How do you pay tribute to over two
centuries of fearless journalism without
making it feel like a museum piece?
Words that moved people.
You don’t just celebrate the past. You make it
resonate in the present.
We started with the words. Boston’s Poet Laureate, Porsha Olayiwola, penned a powerful commemorative piece that would become the heartbeat of the campaign. Her poetry became the script. The soul. The rally cry. We wove it into a series of cinematic videos and TV spots layered with archival imagery, iconic headlines, and sound design that struck a chord.
Each frame honored the nation’s history without feeling stuck in it. Every second reminded viewers that truth is worth fighting for and local journalism is worth showing up for. The spots ran across broadcast, digital, and social, sparking pride and reflection in the community The Globe serves.
A story worth stepping into.
The goal wasn’t nostalgia. It was connection.
To bring the campaign beyond the screen, we created a public installation that toured across Greater Boston. It wasn’t just a look back. It was an invitation to engage. We took the headlines, photos, and moments that made The Globe iconic and brought them into the streets where the stories first began.
The exhibit gave people a chance to pause, reflect, and reconnect with the journalism that’s shaped their community. It didn’t ask for praise. It asked for participation. That’s what made it powerful.
Printing the past. Placing it in the present.
We let the headlines speak for
themselves… and they did. Loudly.
We took the message to the masses with bold billboards across the city. Striking visuals. Historic headlines. No fluff. Just a reminder that The Globe has been there printing the truth, shaping dialogue, and holding power to account for 150 years.
Placed on the busiest roadways, the billboards sparked curiosity and recognition. They stood tall as a quiet declaration: journalism isn’t just history. It’s happening now.

Brand History
The Boston Globe has been reporting, investigating, and informing since 1872. With 27 Pulitzer Prizes and a legacy of uncovering the stories that matter, it remains New England’s most trusted voice in journalism. Today, it’s not just Boston’s oldest daily — it’s one of the nation’s most respected. And it’s still leading the charge into the next chapter.
