An aggressive media push brought the Dunkalatte to life across regional press, fueling a groundswell of hometown pride.

By tapping into the deep-rooted affection Rhode Islanders have for coffee milk, Duffy & Shanley built an earned media strategy that felt as familiar as it did fresh. Carefully crafted press angles, hyperlocal storytelling, and timely outreach turned a niche, limited-edition beverage into a local news darling and beloved national menu staple, with ripple effects that reached far beyond state lines.

Influence from the inside.

We leveraged a familiar Rhode Island face- and
a dedicated Dunkin’ fan- for third-party credibility.

We tapped the most socially recognizable Rhode Island creator to generate authentic, engaging content. This wasn’t a campaign dropped into feeds; it was a hometown story told from the inside out, turning followers into fans and fans into first sippers.

with a mobile experience that doubled as a throwback.

A custom-built milk truck-meets-diner activation hit the streets, serving up free Dunkalatte samples with a strong dose of memory lane. From chrome finishes to retro signage, every detail tapped into Rhode Island coffee milk history while inviting a new generation to taste it for themselves. The experience was built for social, but more importantly, it was built for connection.

Campaign Results

Two governors tweeted about it. The region lit up with 7.5 million media impressions. Social added another 3 million. And the buzz? Let’s just say if you haven’t tried the Dunkalatte yet, good luck… it’s probably sold out.
