I've worked for only two companies.
Right after graduate school, it was New England’s largest agency, now dead (although its mitochondrial DNA is alive at Arnold Worldwide), and Duffy & Shanley.
Along the way, I’ve helped build some great brands; launched talented people to advertising stardom; built a business; soared with the highs, and bummed at the lows of advertising – a lot more highs than lows, by the way.
Outside the office, I founded a ballet company, a historic preservation trust, and a community pride organization; and serve on a dozen boards as far ranging as classical music, a private school for girls, and the industry’s famous AAAA, not to be confused with AAA (or AA).
The best part of my job? Working with talented people. The worst part? Trying to put a lifetime in advertising into three paragraphs.
