Chief Financial Officer spacer

This is nothing like an accounting firm. Ain’t it great?

I truly look forward to coming in every day. It’s stimulating. It’s people running in the halls. It’s deadlines (hence the running people). It’s celebrating the birth of another big idea. And it’s noisy. I love it.

There is no better place for me. I was born here in Rhode Island. I went to school here, raised my children here, ran marathons here. So many of my very good friends are here. And we have the best Italian food in the world (outside of Italy, of course, where it’s just called “food”). Rhode Island is my life. And Duffy & Shanley has made it all the better.

As Chief Financial Officer, I am far, far from my roots in public accounting. And that’s a good thing. After graduating from Providence College and paying my sixty-hours-a-week dues in public accounting, I moved on to some exciting stuff. I’ve held positions in cutting-edge real estate development and the entertainment business. In fact, it was the entertainment business that opened my eyes: I need more than just the “business” side of business to motivate me every day. When Billy Joel and Elton John come to your place of work – not to mention 12,000 fans – you realize work can actually be fun.

And Duffy & Shanley is fun. This has been the most rewarding time of my career. I get to see some of every client. I get to learn. I come up with ideas and see them blossom.

And I’m surrounded by the energy and excitement of other types of professionals, making each day more interesting, more challenging – yes, sometimes more weird – but always more fulfilling. And nothing at all like thisExternal link.
